A remote desktop that feels like you're there
With low latency, hardware-accelerated video and adaptive bandwidth, Polpo Desk makes a remote computer feel local. Here's what's behind it.
Low latency (WebRTC)
Video and input flow over an end-to-end WebRTC connection. Whenever possible, devices connect directly to each other (P2P) without routing through a middle server, keeping the delay between your click and what you see to a minimum.
Hardware-accelerated H.264
The screen is encoded with the efficient H.264 video codec, delivering the same image quality over far less bandwidth. Even high-resolution desktops stay smooth while CPU usage stays low.
Adaptive quality & bandwidth
Resolution, frame rate and bitrate adjust automatically as network conditions change — smoothness is preserved on weak links and sharpness on fast ones. Pick your balance with the 'High / Balanced / Fast' presets.
Multi-monitor & high resolution
See every screen on the remote side and switch between them in one click. Images are delivered with correct color and scaling, including HDR and high-DPI displays.
Lightweight native client
The client is a single ~8 MB native app with no DLLs beside it. It launches fast, uses little memory and runs without installation; installed as a service it enables unattended access.
* Real latency and frame rate depend on network conditions, resolution and hardware. Figures are for typical scenarios.
